I have never met Minister Louise Mushikiwabo, I don’t know her personally, I only know her as an official of the Government. But I love her, and really I do. My “I love you”, Madam Minister, didn’t come at the first sight ; rather, it grew up gradually, and this has formed into me an immense admiration towards her, of course, after analyzing how she performs her officials duties, as member of the public. Her ways, among many more others from our good leaders, have fostered my complete love for me country.
Of course as international relations post graduate, I follow with kin interest our foreign relations affairs. But, I first heard Minister Louise Mushikiwabo on RTV, that time, she was commenting on Rwanda – France relations after Juge Bruguiere had issued the indictments against our officials, who clearly make the nucleus of our State system.
I remember her points. She clearly proved the role of France in the Genocide that killed one million Tutsi in a hundred days in the face of the international community, pointed out that the indictments constituted nothing else than a blameshifting and a high level of revisionism and denial of the Genocide against the Tutsi. Her talk, tone, facts and conviction, among other strategic endeavors from others, challenged the French indictments. My “I love you” started that time.

Recently, again she made my day. In an interview with a worldwide reputed journalist and novelist, Tim Sebastian, she outstandingly presented our country’s position on a number issue not only in our national political sphere but also in our interaction with the international relations milieu.
In the interview, I picked some wise words that deserve to be officially in the World Record of popular quotes :
“The best measurement of Rwanda in terms of rights and liberties and governance is the results on the ground…We can’t be caught up in cage of definition and grading by others……If you come after my country I will come after you…..Rwandans have to be clear of what happens if you try to destabilize……If you kick out Rwandan diplomats, we can do the same, it s called reciprocity……We dispute that Rwanda should be seen as different species……There is a deliberate intent to portray Rwanda in a certain way….The ICC is used mostly by Europe to manipulate African politics…”, etc.

Smartly, I loved the way, Minister Mushikiwabo shot back the ball in the Tim Sebastian’s Court, it is simply amazing, to conclude she asked Tim Sebastian this question, I quote : Do you actually believe that who governs Africa is a decision of foreign leaders ? Is that your idea of democracy ? Guess what Tim responded : It s not me who has been questioned !!!

All of these made me love you, Minister Mushikiwabo. I can imagine how much busy you are and in Kinyarwanda they say that the “arms of different length do not embrace each other”, but if I get a chance to see you I will tell you four things : First : THANK YOU, Second : I love you and third : keep it up. Last but not least “Nkwifurije kuzagira ishya n’ihirwe mu mwaka mushya wa 2016”
